The Men From The Ministry

Missing Information and Recordings

Request for Information

It is not possible to spend much time with The Men From The Ministry without being affected by their continuous creation of missing and incorrect information. The Ballymuckie Archives just wouldn't be the same without it. The author would appreciate receiving additions and corrections to the information presented in these pages. Of particular interest are details of the broadcast dates and official titles of the remade episodes produced for the Transcription Service. The repeat broadcast dates for the episodes in series 5, 6 and 7 (if they actually were repeated domestically) would also be appreciated. Please write to Gary Schajer, gary@schajer.com

The following is a transcript of the opening and closing announcements of an episode yet to be identified. Please contact the author if you can identify it.

A Slight Case of Demolition (Unofficial title)
Starts: Time to meet The Men From The Ministry. We present Richard Murdoch and Deryck Guyler in The Men From The Ministry, a weekly tribute to the men of our Government service. Decent upright men who loathe the use of foul language. In particular such four letter words as 'work', 'duty', 'jobs', and one you never hear in Whitehall 'sack'. Over now to the General Assistance Department where for once Lamb and Lennox-Brown are not on top of their form. There's so much paper in the office their forms are on top of them.
Ends: Muddling through as The Men From The Ministry were Richard Murdoch and Deryck Guyler. Also featured were Norma Ronald, John Graham and Ronald Baddiley. The programme was written by Edward Taylor and John Graham, and produced by Edward Taylor.
